Larry Cochran

Larry Cochran has over 20 years experience in the evaluation, presentment or settlement of over $3 billion in claims in his career.  He has been an expert witness in a number of large complex claims in Federal and State courts from Pennsylvania to Texas.  As a consultant, in addition to assisting with the evaluation of claims, he also assisted businesses or creditors in the turnaround, dissolution or reorganization of troubled companies.

 

From 2001 to 2006, Larry left the consulting business to become an owner and CEO of an oil and gas exploration and production company with over 400,000 mineral acres in New Mexico.  In 2006 he sold his position in the company to acquire IAS Claim Services.

 

Since 2006 Larry has committed himself and significant resources to position IAS as the premier quality claims organization in the U.S. through upgrades in technology, business processes, quality controls, key management, claims professionals and supporting personnel.

 

Larry earned his BBA in Finance from Texas A&M University as a Business School Administration Fellow. Lary subsequently obtained his CPA and received hundreds of hours in post-education accounting, claims, business turnaround and litigation support training. He is actively involved in many charitable and professional organizations.

Paul Kottler comes to IAS via GAB and Crawford and Company where he was recently VP Western Region US Property & Casualty.  Paul has many significant accomplishments in the claims industry over the past 20 years including: working his way from Risk Manager, Field Underwriter and Field Adjuster to handling and managing technical lossses before overseeing a 19 state region with more than 300 employees. 

Paul received his BS in Busienss Administration and Marketing at Kansas State University.  He earned his IIA Associate in Claims Designation over his early years with GAB.  Paul belongs to numerous claims industry organizations and is involved in a number of charitable causes including Special Olymics and the American Heart Association.

Jeff Bottem

Jeff Bottem has specialized in catastrophic claim adjustment since 1974.  In 1990, Jeff joined IAS Claim Services from GAB and helped form the catastrophe division, CatCrew®. Since launching CatCrew®, he has built one of the most highly respected catastrophic claims adjusting teams in the U.S. He has worked and supervised more than 100 different Catastrophic events throughout his career in the U.S. Jeff earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin. He has participated in numerous property and casualty training programs both as a participant and instructor.

Richard Morrison joined IAS Claim Services in 1996. Prior to IAS, Richard worked as an independent claims adjuster for numerous insurers and independent adjusting firms. He has efficiently supervised tens of thousands of catastrophic claims for CatCrew® while delivering high client satisfaction. In addition to his career as a catastrophic adjuster, Richard worked as a carpenter, superintendent, project manager, and estimator in the construction industry for more than a decade. He studied at the College of Engineering at Louisiana Tech University

David Terry began his insurance services career in 1963 with GAB Robbins. Since then, he has been a proven leader in the property and casualty claims adjusting industry. Mr. Terry joined IAS in 1985, managing the company's growth into one of the top 20 independent adjusting firms in the U.S. He earned his BBA and MBA degrees from Texas Christian University, where he also played on the TCU baseball team. He is active in many insurance and claims professional organizations.

Don Stephens began his adjusting career in 1978 with Indiana Insurance Company. He joined USAA in 1984, working in various adjusting and operating leadership positions for 19 years before entering the independent claims business in 2003.  Since then, Don has focused his expertise on business development and catastrophe management.  At IAS, he is also the principal coordinator of our adjuster and client training programs and seminars.  Don earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Indiana State University, his MBA from the University of Texas at San Antonio.  He also acquired his CPCU designation during his tenure at USAA.

John Reed has managed our Louisiana region since joining IAS in 1995. He began his insurance services career with GAB Robbins in 1989 as a property and casualty adjuster. He also spent two years as a Farm Bureau broker/agent before returning to independent adjusting with Crawford & Company in 1993. John is a member of the Baton Rouge Claims Association. He earned a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Southwest Louisiana, where he was inducted into the MU Kappa TAU honor society.

Steve Perry has over 34 years of experience in independent adjusting and claims management. From 1974 to 1993 Steve served in numerous adjuster and management positions at GAB. Since joining IAS 17 years ago, Mr. Perryhas been a key leader in developing many of IAS' largest client teams, as well as providing on-site management for numerous Catastrophic events. He is experienced in both casualty and property adjusting and has earned the AIC designation. He earned his bachelor of business administration from West Texas State University.  Mr. Perry is a past President of the Austin Claims Association.

Pat Mikel brings more than 30 years experience in a wide variety of leadership and claims adjusting experience to IAS. Prior to joining IAS, Pat spent 19 years with Crawford and Company as an adjuster and regional manager in several locations in the Southwest U.S. For the past 10 years, Pat has operated as an independent adjuster. He has specialized training in heavy equipment, transportation, workers compensation, floods, windstorms and fires involving commercial and personal property claims. He also has numerous years of experience as a catastrophe adjuster covering such disasters as Hurricanes Katrina and Ike. Pat received his Bachelor of Science degree from California State University at Long Beach. He is a licensed adjuster in Texas, Florida, Mississippi. Pat also has an NFIP license and is California Earthquake Certified.

Steve Patton has more than 20 years of leadership experience with expertise in national catastrophic claims management. Steve began his career at Nationwide Mutual Insurance as a multi-line claims associate, but soon rose to a leadership position as property claims manager where he led the response to several hurricanes and other weather catastrophes. At Nationwide, Steve led his team to become the top performing claims team within the Virginia Operations. As claims manager and then associate director of claims, he developed best practices for catastrophe claims and implemented new strategies for claims management, budgeting, training, recruiting, customer service, and deployment for catastrophic event responses. Steve attended Indiana University.

Steve Dudash joined IAS in 2008 as the regional manager of the Oklahoma region.  Prior to joining IAS, he spent 21 years with The Republic Group as a full line adjuster.  At Republic, he investigated and reviewed claims, determined coverage, identified possible subrogation and investigated potential and fraudulent claims. Steve earned a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Oklahoma.  Steve was recently named to the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma Claims Association.

Andrew Lawrence has over 15 years of experience in information technology, telephony, operations, and sales engineering. His fields of expertise include personal data mining, collections, computer integrated telephony, and medical industries. He has numerous technical accreditations covering Microsoft, UNIX, .NET Programming and security.
